Hinckley & Burbage Photographed
An ongoing visual documentary project of the people and the place - Hinckley and Burbage,
Leicestershire.
Hinckley & Burbage Photographed has been a local project that I started creating work for in 2012.
I look visually towards interesting events, local stories, people and community focused as well as documenting the landscape (urban, suburban and rural), initially for pleasure and to practice the art of photography.
I’m interested in life, human presence and the lighter and more playful side of photography.
I attempt to make the ordinary seem extraordinary through creative photographic artwork, using the world as it presents itself to me.
The work created for this project is published live on social media as it’s made.

There are over 10,000 photographs belonging to this project but only a few are online and here’s a small selection…

Watch this short film that I created for the purpose of documenting an incredible moment in the history of Hinckley, where the whole community came together to celebrate the life of Isla Smiler Tansey and to help the Islastones Foundation achieve a world record.
